Ustadh Omar Abu Bakr

Shaykh Omar Abu Bakr is from a Malaysian background and was born and brought up in Melbourne, Australia.

He memorised the Qur’ān at an early age in Darul Ulum College of Victoria. Thereafter, joined the ʿĀlimiyyah program in the same madrasah in 2006. There he studied Tafsīr, Ḥadīth, Fiqh al-Ḥanafī, the three Uṣūl of Tafsīr, Ḥadīth and al-Fiqh, Manṭiq & Arabic and graduated as a skilful student in the year 2011.

His studies in the Shāfiʿī Madhhab are extensive. In Fiqh, his study includes books such as Matn Abū Shujāʿ and its various commentaries; ʿUmdah al-Sālik, al-Mughnī, al-Fiqh al-Manhajī, Mughnī al-Muḥtāj. And in Uṣūl al-Fiqh, his study includes the works of Shaykh Abdul Hamid Hakeem and al-Waraqāt.

Since then, the Shaykh has been teaching Islamic Subjects at different institutes mainly focusing on Shāfiʿī Fiqh, while in addition to it, he has also taught Ḥadīth, Arabic and Uṣūl al-Fiqh.
